Create New Metadata Preset from Version in Aperture 3

February 9, 2010 in Tag by David Schloss 0 comments

Once you’ve applied metadata to an image, it’s easy to create a preset from that information in order to quickly apply it to other images. This is an incredibly handy way to prepare images for Batch Change, or to create presets to return to for commonly tagged images.

Start With Metadata

Start off with an image captioned with whatever metadata you’d like included in the preset.

From the Action menu, select New Preset from Version…

From the Metadata presets pane, create a new preset and click OK.

Batch Change

Bring up Batch Change by pressing Command-Shift-B or from the Metadata menu. Under the Add Metadata From dropdown, select the new preset you’ve made.

On Import

You can also use this on import from under the Metadata Presets section.
