Editing Auto-fill text

March 19, 2010 in Organize by Thomas Boyd 4 comments

The auto-fill feature in Aperture is very helpful and useful. But, thehere have been times when I made a mistake filling out my IPTC and the mistake carried over to the auto-fill. Here’s how delete those mistakes, or just clean up items left over in the Auto-fill editor.

Go to Metadata>Edit AutoFill List

Make changes in teh AutoFill Editor

The AutoFill editor shows all the data it’s saved. To delete, just click and delete. You can also click the (-) button at the lower left. And, you can add auto-fill items by clicking the (+) button.

Ah, that’s awesome! That was giving me trouble just yesterday. Didn’t know there was an option. Great tip. Thanks,

Has anyone else seen the bug in which the autofill jams? It happens like this: begin typing a keyword in the Keyword toolbar (not HUD), let the transparent autofill box pop-up with suggestions to autofill, but then delete your entry and try to stop keywording (go back to editing, naming versions, anything else). I cannot get the auto-fill box to disappear without restarting. Anyone else?
