Advanced Adjustments Video with Thomas Boyd

May 10, 2010 in News by David Schloss 1 comment

Thomas Boyd is a twenty-year veteran of the photojournalism world and a Mac Create instructor. His new hour-long video is now available on our online store and in it Thomas delves into his high-level image adjusting tips and tricks.

In this instructional video, Thomas will show you incredibly useful adjustment techniques in Apertuer 3 by taking on a series of typical images.

You’ll learn how to:

• Adjust the whites and colors of a subject’s eyes to get the brightest and sharpest image possible.

• Fix and enhance problematic images like sunsets and sunrises with just a few important brush techniques.

• Apply multiple curves, and other adjustments, to get the best looking images selectively and globally.

• Create a "baseline" adjustment for an image as a jumping-off point for creative toning.

• Bring out sharpness, detail and contrast in your images without introducing artifacts or other problems.

• Touch up interior location shots so they don’t appear to be artificial.

• Adjust white balance to deal with multiple light sources.

• Create a killer black and white image using not only monochrome tools but color tools.

• Create and use presets.

• Use the Curve adjustments for maximum image quality.

• Round trip edit with plug-ins.

and much more.
